The St. Lawrence Market, the BIA and neighbourhood organizations and businesses are putting on an Irish Festival with special events to be held at various venues around the area. Planning is in progress for Celtic entertainment, a community breakfast, a Special Events Tent next to the North Market, and the "Run for the Green."

The 3-year-old, 5 km St. Patrick's Day run, sponsored by The Running Room and QC Productions, is organized by the Achilles Track Club, a worldwide organization that encourages people with disabilities to participate in running with the general public. For more information or a registration form, contact Brian McLean, Toronto Chapter president, at 416-485-6451 or bmclean@idirect.com.

This year's event, on March 18th, will include running clinics at the St. Lawrence Market and a post-run brunch at Fionn MacCool's. The run will will start and finish at the St. Lawrence Market; over 500 runners are expected to take part.

Last year's celebration of our very own local currency was a blast. Not to mention, a really good food experience. Don't miss out when the St. Lawrence Market merchants lay out their best wares and community groups put on displays and performances for your edification and enjoyment. This is one party you don't want to miss.
