Farmers' Market Customer Appreciation Night and 7th Annual Toronto Dollar Party

April 7th, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. in the North Market

Tdollarlogo.gif - 14615 Bytes The Farmers' Market vendors join the Toronto Dollar Project, other businesses and community organizations in welcoming customers and supporters. Enjoy food samples, entertainment and community interaction. The Toronto Dollar Community Projects Inc. will present awards to groups and individuals whose efforts are having a positive impact on people's lives (see the Toronto Dollar website for more information). Open to all -- no invitation required.

Customer Appreciation Night Entertainment (Subject to Change)
  • Isshin Daiko (North Market only)
    This perennial favourite plays both traditional Taiko (Japanese drum) music and original compositions.
  • Grupo Folclórico Português de Oakville
    The Oakville Portuguese Folklore Group performs a repertoire of "Malhões," "Viras" and "Chulas", dances from the province of Minho, Portugal.
  • Maracatu Nunca Antes
    A dynamic percussion troupe playing Afro-Brasilian rhythms on beaded shakers, the snare, the bell and the alfaia bass drums.
  • Didgeridoo & Hand Drumming
  • Ozuo 3
  • Levendiax
  • Toronto Saxophone Quartet
    Performing for over two decades, these four different saxophones have a repertoire of over 600 arrangements.
  • Classic Folk
  • New Orleans Hot Shots (South Market only)
    This five-piece ensemble consist of some of the best traditional jazz musicians in Toronto, playing the type of music you hear "way down yonder in New Orleans."
  • The Foggy Hogtown Boys (South Market only)
    One of the most exciting bluegrass bands in the country. Although instrumentally the band has the power to dazzle any audience, the song is always given top priority.
  • Han-mam Dance Ensemble
    A group of Korean-Canadians who enjoy Korean heritage through traditional folk dances and songs performing the Puppet Dance, the Basket Dance and the Fan Dance.
  • The Bagpiper

Traditional lobster supper and an evening of Celtic music by Natalie MacMaster, JP Cormier and legendary Cape Breton Fiddlers. Bike Week:Your Bike is your Ticket to Tastes of the Market!
People are asked to bike to and from work. People that bike to the Market on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday will enjoy the "Tastes of the Market": free samples of coffees, drinks and munchies, while supplies last. Samples located along Market Street (west side of the Market).
