The SOUTH MARKET MERCHANTS and FARMERS’ MARKET VENDORS invite their customers to the 2008 Customer Appreciation Night for an evening of fine foods, drinks and live entertainment. By invitation only. Invitations available mid-March from your favourite Market Merchant or Vendor.

Toronto Dollar Party
Thursday, April 3rd, 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., in the North Market

The Toronto Dollar hosts this event, with 10% of every Toronto Dollar sold going to support local charities. Events for the evening include:

  • A licensed book market, where some of your favourite authors will be selling and signing their books,
  • Readings by selected poets as part of Poetry Without Borders and National Poetry Month,
  • Readings of both poetry and prose,
  • A children’s story time,
  • Book launches,
  • Musical entertainment,
  • Open mike,
  • Tables for literary organizations and publishers,
  • A raffle,
  • Great food and much more!

A Common Thread: A History of Toronto's Garment Industry
Market Gallery, March 8th - June 15th

Chronicling over a century of the garment industry, this exhibit of photographs, vintage clothing and old sewing machines explores a wide variety of issues such as immigrant opportunities, working conditions, union activity as well as individual stories of those who worked in this industry.
