The 1860 visit by the Prince of Wales

An illustrated talk by Dr. Carolyn Harris, followed by tea

Beginning with the Prince of Wales' visit to Toronto in 1860, Torontonians have used the maple leaf to present the city's Canadian character to royal visitors. Join Dr. Carolyn Harris, historian, author and royal commentator, to learn more about the significance of the 1860 visit.

Harris currently teaches history at the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies. Her third book, "Raising Royalty: 1000 Years of Royal Parenting" was published by Dundurn Press in 2017.

The talk will be followed by tea, sandwiches and treats in the Market Kitchen.
