What's On at The Market Kitchen

Food Tasting and History Show
Saturdays, 10 a.m. Free admission. Approximately 40 minutes in length.
St. Lawrence Market is a popular destination for grocery shopping. To introduce you to the Market fare and help you navigate the many specialty vendors like a seasoned shopper, the Market hosts a weekly Food Tasting and History Show. Every Saturday, a vendor will showcase a food or product that is available in the market place. Taste a variety of new and different foods, receive recipes and ask your questions about the featured fare.

Did you know that Toronto’s original City Hall is part of the South Market? Find out where the Council Chamber, the only remaining section of the original City Hall (1845 to 1899), is located. Local historian Bruce Bell will share this historical fact and other interesting details on St. Lawrence Market and Old Town Toronto, as part of the show.

Cooking Classes and Events
FEBRUARY bullet MARCH bullet APRIL
The Market Kitchen features a variety of programs for everyone, beginner cooks and experienced epicures:

The Celebrity Chef series will give you the opportunity to be "at the dinner table" with some of Canada’s renowned chefs. You’ve seen them on television and dined at their restaurants; now, meet them in person as they share their passion for food with you.

Hands-on cooking classes will have you up to your elbows in marinade, cake mixture and other blends of ingredients. The only way to enjoy a meal in these classes is if you cook it yourself.

Interactive demonstrations will provide a relaxing learning environment. Sit back and have meals made for you as you enjoy one-on-one interactions with chefs.
Note: A second Couples in the kitchen for Valentine’s Day class has been added on February 11th. Go to Calendar below for details.
