Di Liso’s Fine Meats was started by Frank Di Liso in 1979. Frank was an experienced butcher who specialized in sausage-making. John began working with Frank when he was 10 years old and learned the business. Frank still works behind the scenes, developing new recipes and making sausages, while John manages the business. John enjoys the lively atmosphere of the Market, the comfortable family working conditions, and the friendly competition with the other meat vendors. Di Liso’s specializes in fresh handmade sausages, many based on Frank’s old family recipes from Southern Italy. The #1 seller is the Barese sausage, stuffed with beef, pork, cheeses, peppers and spices. It can be prepared many ways, cut up into pasta sauces, opened and mixed into lasagna, or sliced and grilled on its own. They have a complete line of wonderful sausages, each with its own unique flavours and aromas. All the sausages are made on the premises and you can sometimes see Frank at work at the sausage machine. All the ingredients are fresh with no additives or preservatives. They also sell game birds, such as, pheasants, quail and Guinea fowl. They offer stuffed chicken breasts for quick cooking and serving. Delicious! They specialize in aged beef, and will fill home freezer orders. |
