Golden Orchard Fine Foods has been in business at the Market since 1977 and in its present location since the early 1980s. It is a family business, started as a small greengrocer store on Queen Street, by Murray’s mother and father, Cora and Mike, when they were just married. The store moved to the Market and all 3 children helped in the business while growing up and going to school. All are very successful now. Cora, a much-loved member of the Market family, passed away recently and her son Murray continued the business.

They were the first produce vendors in the Market to specialize in quality organically grown fruits and vegetables. Most of their fresh produce is grown locally when in season and imported from organic farms in the off season. Their clientele are loyal, health-conscious customers, who return often for fresh organic produce. Murray, Alan and their staff are very helpful and can offer information about the produce and hints on preparation.
