I Heart Market Street Music Series

In partnership with the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA, the I Heart Market Street Music Series brings live music performances to Market Street on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week. The diverse lineup of Toronto-based artists spans across genres including classical, folk, funk, jazz, and more. This series is scheduled to run weekly until mid-September and is free to attend.

Tuesday, August 27
11:30AM - 1:30PM: Gisun
5:00PM - 7:00PM: Liz the Cellist

Gisun 지선 is a multicultural Canadian artist. Having graduated from Berklee Valencia, her songwriting in both English and Spanish revolves around latin and soul-inspired music. Through her experiences navigating themes of identity, heritage and belonging, she creates community connectivity and healing through music. 

Elizabeth Kovalchuk, a Latvian-Canadian cellist, has performed worldwide as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. She studied at the Chicago College of Performing Arts and the Sibelius Academy, leading to international tours with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and the Hollywood Festival Orchestra. Liz has collaborated with Emmy award-winning  (and former Saturday Night Live Music Director) Katreese Barnes, Dr. Draw, and has opened for the Arkells. She regularly performs as the resident electric cellist at Casa Madera.
