5:00PM - 7:00PM: The Sonny Balcones

Andrew Marzotto: After graduating from Berklee in 2016 with a full scholarship, Andrew became involved in the Toronto music scene, accompanying world-class artists and vocalists such as Justin Nozuka, Joanna Majoko, Dayna Stephens and Jesse Ryan, to name a few. With Justin Nozuka, he had the opportunity to tour extensively throughout Europe, the United States and Canada. He has honed his teaching methods and has developed a strong group of students from Toronto and around the world.  As a session musician, Andrew has contributed to many albums, ranging from award-winning rap to cutting edge modern Jazz.  He is currently working on an album of his own featuring original compositions.

Ale Avery Nunez:  A 22 year old Canadian vocalist, songwriter and band-leader based in Toronto, Ale Avery Nunez has exploded onto the Jazz scene, where you can see her perform regularly at places like The Jazz Bistro, Drom Taberna and The Emmet Ray in Toronto as well as Manhattans in Guelph to name a few. Ale loves to share her passion for Jazz and all genres of music in every performance, drawing her audience in, having them hanging on to every note. Her voice is uniquely her own yet reminiscent of artists such as Carmen McRae, Etta Jones, Sarah Vaughan and Julie London. When she is not gigging, she is pursuing her Bachelor of Music Degree at Humber College.  She recently first-place in the 2022 “Doc Awards” as part of the Etobicoke Jazz Festival and recently performed at Humber College’s 50th Anniversary.  Ale is excited to be recording original music this year.
